First-year player Henderson has recorded five scores this season

New England equaled their top unbeaten stretch from the Brady period as they defeated AFC East rivals the Jets 27-14 in professional football

First-year standout TreVeyon Henderson led the way with three TDs as the New England squad notched an eighth consecutive victory for the initial occasion since iconic QB Brady's closing campaign with the franchise in the 2019 season

Signal-caller Maye accumulated 281 passing yards and a TD, connecting on 25 of 34 passes

The triumph extends the Patriots advantage at the top of the division as they moved to nine victories against two losses, with the Jets bottom after dropping to two victories and eight defeats

The opposing team had taken the lead at Foxborough with QB Fields rushing for a five-yard touchdown to conclude the New York's first possession

But the home team fought back in the second quarter as Henderson scored two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier grabbed a reception from Drake Maye at the rear of the end zone midway through the third quarter to extend the lead to 21-7

"That was a big time for him stepping up, and it's been great for him to keep getting these reps," Maye said of Henderson. "He aims to be outstanding."

Justin Fields connected with Metchie toward the end of the third period to reduce the lead for the Jets but Andy Borregales kicked a two kicks in the final period as the home side closed out the triumph
